Got a box load of very hardy fish today from Wet Thumb Aquatics.

6 brevis sunspot dove for shells.  They look full grown.

6 lamp. crassus are very bright eyed and also w/ bright blue ventrals

6 lamp. falcicula are a bit stressed...nice sized fish also.

6 lamp. caudopuncs w/ bright orange dorsal fins.

and 2 little synodontas petricolas

I'm spreading them around the house.  Most are in 10 gallons set up for them to establish pairs.  Some are in my 120 gallon community tang tank.

$51.40 in shipping

fish prices from $4 - $6 (except for the synodotas @ $10 ea)

Very reasonable!  Gotta go brew some more coffee and watch them get settled!

here's a 24 hr update and a little more accurate breakdown of the pricing from WetThumb:

(brevis are coming out of their shells, one at a time, right here by my desk...and weeeee are they sweet!  1 to 2 inches!!)

2 L. caudopuncts died w/in hrs of being released into the tank.  3 were sitting and gasping in shock and 2 didn't come out of that, where as one did.  The other 3 look great and have been fanning each other and showing great color.  The 4th has joined them today.

1 L. Falcicula is badly scarred by a bite from long ago.  The front 2/3 of his dorsal fin, along w/ a bit of his back are gone and healed over.  At first glance, while still in the bag, I thought it was shipping nipping, but this is an old wound.  He seems like a hardy fish and has been doing some fanning and flashing, just w/ less to show w/.

The rest of the fish are looking great and fitting in well.  (OK, I have only seen 3 of the brevis since release...these shy guys are silly in their shells)

If I figure in the shipping and handling and cover the cost for lost and scarred fish, I have to add $3 a fish.  (I bought 26 fish total)

That's a steal, if you ask me!  $7 brevis, my end cost!  $8 puncts, my end cost!  $13 syno. petricola, my end cost!  Cool deal.  I'll be getting pics soon!

(sounds of whips cracking... back to work!)

lamprologus crassus w/ fossils in the background - 10 gallon tank w/ 6 young... I'll weed the rest out when they pair up

I think they're very similar looking to L. brichardi, but a bit stubbier, longer & brighter ventral fins and a black edge to the end of the dorsal

similar, but I still haven't seen them spawn

I have 2 med and one larger in a 10 gallon by themselves, and 2 med and one larger in a 120 gallon w/ a bunch of other tangs

very hardy fish, very pretty fish... one flirts more w/ a falcilula than the other crassus

dorsal fins not as long as brichardi

(brichardi were my first love from lake tang... I have a 55 gallon tank full of 'em)
