Howdy  Folks..   I  wanted  to  catch  everyone's attention  for  just a  second

We  have  installed  a link to  a  new  chat room...   It is   a  shared  chat room  for   Shelldwellers.com    and   for   Another   " Sister site"  AquariumNation.com..

You  will  Need to  register  with the  chat room  but it takes  LITERALLY  a  minute to max of  2  minutes...  There  are a number  of  good  people   that  are in there   most of  the  time.. Some of  them are  members  here on Shelldwellers.com  as  well.

Also  we have  added  a  link  to  the  AquariumNation Network Auctions...   It is  small at  this  point as  it  has  only  been running for  2  weeks...   There is  A  One Hour Auction event  called SNIPE ( Saturday Night Internet Purchase Event)   EVERY Saturday  evening from 8pm-11pm eastern...   I   hope some of  you  will register  with the  auctions  and  join in the  chat  .. It is  a great place  for   good deals  on  fish, foods, equipment, and Plants.. It is  also a  great place  to   Sell of  those  great  shellies..  SweetAquatics  runs plant  auctions of  all kinds there stating  at  $1.00  every Saturday Night...

I  hope  everyone  will take  part in  these  new  offerings  here  on Shelldwellers.com

Howdy folks,

Just wanted to add a little to what Ken (Riftlakes) had to say.  The idea for AquariumNation.com came to us in the summer of last year.  We almost immediately started planning the site and began building it in the fall.  The idea behind it was to create the best "general aquarium site" that we possibly could.  We wanted it to be not only a forum site...but also a social site.......complete with personal pages, an auction site, and an information site. On January 1 of this year the site was officially opened up to the public.  We are VERY pro small business and use every opportunity available to us...to advertise local fish stores.   In April, we traveled to Indianapolis for a live-bearer convention and stopped at LFS's and member's homes all along the way.  We are personal friends with many of the members there.  We are also about saving our member's money whenever possible.  If we can help someone do it themselves and avoid having to pay an arm and a leg at some chain store with jacked up prices......we will do so.

Our pro small business stance, as well as our commitment to our members over big business has created a few enemies out there.  Since Aquarium Nation was originally opened, we have had to rebuild not once, but twice.  We are now in the process of our second re-build.  What you will see when you log on at this point, has been built in, quite literally, a few weeks.  We plan to eventually warm the site up with some personal pages, etc.  We have changed servers......and now have some of the best protection available on the net.

Ken and I decided to buy this site, prior to the last hack......On the morning that the deal was finalized, Ken and I woke up to NO AquariumNation on the net.  It was GONE!  We took a few minutes to "melt down" .....got ourselves together......and decided to move ahead with our plans to buy.  The actual "change of hands" took place last week.  Clint is an absolutely wonderful person... We hope he stays on as a member.  Ken and I will do our best to make sure this site is run very similar to the way it has always been run.  Why change something that works.

About the only real changes that you will see....are going to be links to AN, the AN auction, and to SweetAquatics.com, a sister site owned by two of the finest people you would ever want to meet.  If ya want plants....Dan and Mary are the folks to talk to.  This site will remain 100% about shellies.  AN and Sweet Aquatics are sister sites.  You are all invited to visit them, but that's up to you.  AN chat will soon be hosting a "shellie chat."

One other small change that I do need to mention. Not really a  change  from Clint  but  worth mentioning. Feel free to mention other sites here.  We know that aquabid exists, as well as a host of other sites.  We encourage our members to mention a "good deal" if they find one.  Some site owners....actually most....frown on the mention of other sites.  WE DO NOT PLAY NASTY!!!    We want you to find the deals and the information that you are looking for.  Ken and I believe that taking a position of "openness" of information will actually do us and everyone else better in the long run.

It's great being here.   Let's have some fun.  Shellies ROCK!

ONE hour  auctions are running tonight  starting  at  8pm..  there  will be  breather  bags, plants, fish foods  and  many  fish available...   My  shellies  are  starting to produce  big  time.. so  very very  soon  there  will also be lots of  shellies  on there  as well... Might  be  worth a look...

   Hey  Folks..

I  have  had some internet  trouble  for a  few  but  I  am  back online   with a vengeance  now..  Anyway...

I  really  wanted  to encourage   folks  to  give  the AN Network Auctions a  try    either  to  sell or  buy...

There  are  far  more  auctions  running Saturday Nights  than   on a  daily  basis  but   there  are some good  deals  by  good \sellers  on there  most of the  time.  And  with less  competition  the    bidding  doesn't  go  quite  as  high..

So  sellers..  don't  cut  your  nose off despite  your  face.. make  sur e you   start  bids  at  Minimum  you  will accept  without  screaming  at  me..   Grin

and  buyers..  you  get   deep  discount  pricing by  not  competing  with 1200 other  bidders  sometimes!!!!

A good example  of  my  point..  in 20 hours  this plant  auction  goes  out..  25  swordplants ( variety of  species) with shipping included  and  it  is  only  at 8 bucks  right  now... check it out http://auction.aquariumnation.com/item.php?id=274

now  I  know   some  people  got  plant  tanks    and   The seller  is  a  great   person.. and  member  here..

Check it  out..   and   register .. IT  is  FREE  and  you  never  know   when  something  will come  up  you  want  and  you  can  save  lots  of  money  on top  of  the  free registration..   lol
