Hello Everyone!
I decided that I want to start a shellie tank (my first foray into Africans) in a few months and I've been tossing a few ideas around.
The tank will be sitting on my desk (I work from home 6 hours minimum a day at the computer) so it will need to be no bigger than 20 gallons.
I will probably end up with whatever size I can find second hand locally.
My plan so far is to have a tiered set up with just shellies and possibly some dithers.
I know the tiered/multilevel idea has been kicked around before and not many have been very successful but I'd like to think that I might have found the solution.
My idea is to have one or two of these: http://www.amazon.com/Linus-Stadium-Corner-Organizer-Clear/dp/B002A2QWL2 in the tank, depending on the size.
I would want to cover and or paint them to look more natural and then fill them with sand and shells.

I'd love to hear some feedback on this idea and/or suggestions on how to make the organizers look more natural.

Thanks!

I think it could be nice to drill holes so that there are caves under the tiers.  I saw a youtube vid where I guy glued lava rocks all over a background.  Maybe that could help naturalize your plastic.  Keep us posted on your progress and include pics if you can.
