im going to try your method of leaving a bucket full of water out,  Grin Grin

if it is Chlorine in water,no problem...but if it is chloramine in water you could leave a bucket of water for a week and nothing will happen.

hey guys why you dont use FFM? http://www.easylife.nl/english/index.html?id=06
my fishes(and shrimps) can not live without it  Grin Grin

I doubt if the water in Slovakia contains chlorine or chloramine.
In the USA it is standard to put this in the drinking water but in Europe it is quite rare.
We just use clean water to begin with.
(I just fill a bucket under the tap at about the right temperature and use a hose to put it in the tank, no chemicals, no waiting, no problems)

I don't trust Easy Life. All these vague claims and no info on the content.
"If it sounds to good to be true it probably isn't" is very valid in this case.

Just check with your water company if they add anything.

Nope

In the Netherlands we use clean groundwater from deep soil layers.
As this is clean there is no need to add anything.

In the areas where surface water is used this is purified using active carbon and sterilised using UV.
The usage of chlorine as desinfectant for drinking water is not allowed.
(exept at very low levels in case of emergensies such as broken pipes).

To me it is very odd to add toxins to your drinking water. If it kills my fish I won't drink it.

very good points shared here!

someone told me yrs ago that my spring fed koi pond has safer water than my tap

...but for the record, I've skipped dechlorinator when I've done partial water changes a lot over the years

sometimes in the winter, the water smells a little more chlorinated, and I use dechlor then, but other times... not

and my fish are all smiling like clams!
