Today I received 2 Neolamprologus Multifasciatus and 3 Julidochromis Dickfeldi.
I already had 1 Julidochromis Dickfeldi and it immediately bullied the 3 newcomers, it would not let them near the rock pile I had constructed, it also strted to herd the 2 Multis, I did not expect this as it had always been very peaceful before,I had to take out all the rocks and net the large one, holding back the tars I took him to LFS, they don't have any tangs but found a tank fir him. the 3 julis and 2 multis are now settling in nice. I am waiting on some shells arriving so fingers crossed they wont be to long, missing the Juli and looking at the rock wall which is nothing like what it used to be...... photos to follow soon.....

simple tank remodeling may have cured the issue with the juli. as far as he knew it was his tank and his rock pile then you decided to introduce what he saw as intruders. he was defending his earned territory.

I agree, he/she was exhibiting natural behavior.

Like Sin mentioned, a few modifications to the rockwork, prior to introducing the new charges, probably would have mitigated this.  However, now that the new charges are in and beginning to establish territories, it would be a good time to (if it's not too late) reengage with the LFS and see if it's possible to get the fish back.  I think things will be a bit different at introduction, this time.

Look forward to the pics...

I had thought about rocks at either end of the tank. The main Juli was nipping at the 2 Juvi Multis then the main Multis started hunting and herding the juvi Julis in turn. (Huh)
To be honest it's maybe for the best as the 3 Juvis can grow together and have there squabbles. Even when one of them was at the right hand side resting near the top rear corner the main one would charge over and constantly stress it, I just did what I thought was best. If I had researched them properly at the beginning (so don't everybody shoot me down in flames just yet) I should have got 3 along with the original 6 Multis. Tank calmed down now, can't wait till new shells arrive, funny thing with Multis is no matter where you move there shells they always seem to know which onw was theres.
Can I ask one wuestion though, has anyone witnessed a Multi physically moving it's shell?

QUICK UPDATE
2 juvi Multis hanging out together , usually at left hand side of the tank, using the rockwork for shelter, will place some shells at that side of tank for them when they arrive.
3 juvi Dickfeldi hanging over rockpile and settling in nice, all displaying to each other and ate eagerly when fed, looking good.
Just very releaved, when all fish arrived they looked the worst for wear, I thought 1 Multi and 1 Juli were on there way out, the Julis still look very delicate, they are ultra thin, the Multis look very at home and occassionally mingle with the big ones,,,COOL...... Smiley
I would like a couple of Golden Ocelattus, what would minimum tank size be for 2 or 3 fish?
12"x12"x12" /// 18"x12"x10"  Huh
