Hey Anthony,
I actually have 2 species of shelldwellers now.. I sold my breeding pair of L. ocellatus "gold" as part of the deal, they recieved 2 of the original spawn along with the 7 -  1/8" - 1/4" fry; basically they got a great deal. I also sold them  the Telmatochromis vittatus all 8 of them... they also wanted some of my juvenile similis.

NOW I HAVE MORE TANKS TO MOVE AROUND THE PARENTS WHEN THEY START CHASING AWAY THE JUVENILES.. I've noted that when the fry/juveniles start getting 1/4" - 1/2" their parents start to chase them away... especially when you have huge spawns like I have.  I moved the 3 females and the 1 male (parents) to a 20 gallon tank and now I have a 28 gallon grow out tank. LOL
Video to follow.  In all,  I have 7 tanks devoted to similis the 2 mentioned above,  4 - 10 gallon tanks that are devoted to similis.  1 tank has 2 females and 1 male, another 1 female and 1 male, and the 2 - 10 gallon tanks as growout tanks (1  for fry to just coming out of fry stage, and the other a juvenile tank 1/4" 1/2" +)    I have noted some have very very yellow fins (dorsal and anal) some moderate to medial and even plain it's the very very yellow fins I'm hoping to breed more of.  I have only two shelldwellers now, Neolaprologus multifasciatus and Neolamprologus similis.  I have always loved these two species....   I wanted to try others but I keep coming back to these two species.

I feed them a variaty of foods,  CRUSHED FLAKE (Tetra Color CRIPS) / frozen baby brine / Live baby brine / frozen daphnia you can get at your
LFS (Local Fish Store) it took me awhile to figure out what people meant by those initials "LFS" I was wondering what the hell is LFS? (Lester's FOOD STOP) to all the Lester's out there,, sorry no pun intended!

I found daphnia really gets my multies going. Same with cyclops. I think I prefer Daphnia though. My fish seem to like it more.

I was looking at my similis tank a couple of days ago an found 2 Lil fry about the size of this line    ____
I am feeding them crushed flakes and Frozen Baby Brine Shrimp,
I wont bother moving them cause the other similis leave them alone and they have there own little territory,

When i get my fish shed running, I will have multies in a 3x18x18 and similis in a 3x18x18, around 170-190 ltrs,
How big of a colony do u think i can out in here?

Thanks

Cool!  I can see the yellowing.  That would be neat to see you develope a very yellow similis.

Or even neater, get it so the stripes say GIRLVIRGO, and you'll really have a signature fish on your hands!!!
