Hey guys, I just found out that my Dhontis spawned which wasent really all that surprising with the huge belly and then the shrunken belly the next day but I'm still happy lol. I thought I lost my touch, I havent been able to get certain fish to spawn which really got me pissed because I thought I was doing something wrong. Nice to know I'm doing something right. Anyways, I took some pics of my Dhonti pair and this one single fry that I could take a picture of. I also tried taking pics of my Savoryi but its easier said then done.. They are the most shy rockdweller I've ever kept, They have big teeth, they can fight anyone, and yet they cant even go out and relax  Smiley. Also took pics of my multies lol. One can never have too many multies!

i'll post pics ASAP, My sister took the computer and I'm stuck with the crappy one that cant upload pics because it takes too long.. I'll get it up probably in the morning before I go to school  Smiley

Nice looking fish, multies!  Until now, I've never seen either of those fish.  Did you get those from a breeder or did a LFS have them?

I got the Savoryi from a breeder and I got the Dhonti's from a friend of mine who owes me alot of fish and money  Smiley
It seems that the fry are darker in colouration from yesterday. It might have been the water change yesterday or something, not too sure.

I took some taiwan moss from my multie tank and put some into my savoryi tank.
My LFS has alot of rare fish so I'm good  Smiley Well im not sure if its really a "local" fish store, it takes me like an hour an something to get there  Wink

Yeah, My friend told me these guys spawn very very often. Well he also spawned caudopunctatus within a week lol.
Its the funniest thing and the strangest thing I've ever experience in terms of breeding. We go to our LFS, he trades in some odds and ends and wants a pair of caudopunctatus. Theres a bunch of caudopunctatus in one tank and he says go pick 2, you've spawned them before, sex them for me. I try my best and go for 2. He brings them home and I go over next week and he says "i wonder if my caudopunctatus bred" and lifts up the conch shell. Out goes 20 caudopunctatus fry! Apparently, they paired up and spawned within a week of being in his tank!

Mommy is very angry too. She doesnt let anyone near her fry.

cool story!  You know your fish!!

I think the only cichlids that I ever could pick pairs 100% were convicts...ha ha.

With shellies I like to get 6, in hopes, but w/ my caudos, it didn't work out.  Only 3 survived and they're all gals.
