When we buy juvies we usually get them from one spawning pair. Their parents were probably done the same way, does anyone ever add new blood to their line to improve on their genetics.
I have noticed how much of a difference there is between wilds and what we purchase locally, subtle sometimes but still there. This is just a question that has been bothering me, when I had angels I tried to get pairs that weren't related.

IMO, i dont really see the difference between a wc and a tank raised fish.
A good fish is a good fish. No matter what the line is.
but when people see the deformities, they usually cull the fry. and many people also try for genetic variation.

I got my multies from 2 seperate places, 4 from one store and 6 from another about 60 miles away. I personally feel inbreeding is detrimental to ANY lifeform after several generations or so. So IMO, it is wise to add new blood if possible, just make sure it is of the same species/morph Smiley
