All right, all you members out there:

What do we need a forum for that we lack?
What changes should be made to existing forums?
Do we need all the forums we have?

Any non-forum suggestions - articles you'd like to see written, section you wish would be added?

Without input, the site will only run the way Clint likes it, and we all know that means Telmats get their own board. Wink So, c'mon, step up and suggest away.

That's a great idea! Telmatochromis should have their own board.

How about when more than two people have them? Wink Personally, I think similis deserve their own board, where I'd just natter on and on about them ...

Actually, wait. How about a board, or perhaps a set of threads, designed for basically fishy diary entries? It's be an interesting way to create a body of behavior - less need to worry that the fish might be flashing because half a dozen people have reported that their fish scratch against things on and off even when they're perfectly healthy. A shelldweller blog. Hmm ...

ooooooh i got a good ide. on the main page have a forum thats called "sheldweller species" then when you click on that forum it gives you a page that has a bunch of forums specifically for certain types of shellies Smiley

*Edit* even better. lol how about a page like petfish were it has like the cichlids then below that it has a bunch of articles about different cichlids how about a page like there were it says  the types of shelldwellers for each topic instead of barbs, it'll be multi's then cichlids would be like brevis, and if you click on there name it will have a forum designated for that fish. then below that were on petfish it has articles about different fish in that family here it could have articles about spawning, then one about basic care. ...ect. sry if this is confusing ill try to make a basic thing what it would look like in word. and ill post that when im done

Neolamprologus multifasciatus (multi?s)    (you could click on the name and it would take you to a forum about that fish)
Breeding  (click on this for an article about breeding)
Basic Care  (click for article)

Neolamprologus similes (click for forum)
Breeding- (click for article)
Basic Care( click for article)

I think you get the point now. And you can have an article writer and have people write more articles about those certain fish. so eventually we could have a page like this that has all the shellies on it. that would be tooo cool. Smiley

Species-specific forums could be a little excessie, but you're probably right that the articles should be linked to. Maybe the top post of every species thread in the Species forum should be edited to include a link to the article on that species, as they're written? So there's an article and "photo thread" all at once.

And I agree, we should all buckle down and write more species articles. ::hangs head:: I'm on vacation, I really ought to be doing that! OK, it's on the to-do list.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Is it possible to make the default avatar be nothing?  Instead of that animal, I can't remember what its called.  I keep reading threads and that things shows up 4 times in a row but its all different people... unless these people maybe are all choosing the same avatar?

That's a good one.

I'm about to go on a shooting rampage as far as llamas go.

And could we possibly get the whole AIM MSN YIM screen name thing going on in here without asking Clint to speed many a long hour working at it? Wink

That would be pretty nice...

Edit- And here's another one:
Make a "Raising and Parenting Fry" board, and then move my latest thread under there Wink

Well,  that last one I can do, and it's a good idea. The others I'll leave to Clint for fear of hurting something!

ok, it took me a while but aim/msn/yim are there by default but you have to enter your info in your profile or it doesn't show up.

And, no more llamas, its just a blank pixel now.
